If you've dreamed about finding a very exquisite and naturally
gaited Paso Fino with a lot of heart, then "Eve" just might be
the one to make your dreams come true...
About Eve's Sire...
Cantante de Omega, pictured below, is a 14.3 hand
chestnut stallion that was known for producing strong natural
gait, beauty, stamina, power, size and gentle disposition.
His sire, Singer, was a very influential stallion
and also a Reserve Grand National Champion in Performance.
Cantante's dam, Guamanita, was the daughter of Guamani
and grand daughter of the legendary Puerto Rican foundation
sire, Dulce Sueno. Cantante is retired and
living at Grove Creek Farm in Springfield, Illinois.
About Eve's Dam...
Melodia de Vez, pictured below, is a prized broodmare
also from the Guamani bloodline. Melodia
numerous championships including Reserve National Champion
Schooling Fillies and many Regional Championships in
Performance and Pleasure. Melodia's sire is the
legendary Coral LaCE (pictured below). Prior
to being imported into the US in 1968 by George LaHood, Coral
was honored with the highly esteemed "Horse of Horses" title
in Columbian where he was bred/raised. His later
accomplishment included earning a Grand National Championship
in Performance. He also produced many National
Champions. The Paso Fino Horse Association honored him
twice as the #1 Top Producing Sire in the Nation and a
"Top 10 Producing Sire" an amazing thirteen times!
His offspring have received National titles in Pleasure,
Performance, Versatility, Driving and Largo Races, as well as
numerous State and Regional titles. Coral LaCE was also
inducted into the Paso Fino Horse Association's Hall of
Fame. I believe his greatest honor is probably the
fact that owners from all over the world are still dedicated
to preserving the Coral LaCE legacy for it's gentle nature,
natural gait, versatility and great beauty.
About Eve...
Even though
Eve's bloodlines are quite impressive, her greatest attributes
are appreciated most when riding her or working with her in
hand. She's a gentle, willing mare that almost anyone
would enjoy. She also received professional
training when previously owned by Amy Cottrill-Auffrey at
Sunhaven Paso Finos. While there, Eve was
Amy's treasured personal riding companion.
Ever since coming to live with
our family, she's been a trusted companion for our children to
ride. She has carried them as a lesson horse, on fun day
events and has extensively through the forests and on trails.
Eve is very gentle, but she also makes an excellent and
exciting companion for an experienced rider, too.
Eve has one of the most natural
smooth gaits that I've ever ridden. She's always
smooth under any rider and also in any type of terrain...which
is rare, especially in the FL trails with deep sand! Her
agility, stamina and power make her a
very capable trail companion to ride. Even though she's
totally content being in any position (lead, front, or middle
it makes no difference) within any size group of trail horses,
she excels as a lead horse. Her confidence and
experience have lead many horses through very difficult
trail situations including passing through lakes and rivers.
She's also one of my first choices for riding with new, or
green, horses because she gets along with all horses and
never tries to kick or bite them...not even while riding
with the PFHA drill team where you're almost always either
touching stirrups or are within inches of another horse in
front of and/or behind you! Eve's riding abilities
including jumping, side-pass gaiting and naturally perform
higher level movements such as the dressage "piaffe".
Eve leads respectfully, ties,
cross-ties, bathes, grooms (sprays included!), trims, stands
quietly for the farrier, loads/trailers like a dream, is easy
to catch (there's a trick that you may need know for those
special days!), halter, deworm, and tack. She is
currently on a rotation deworming schedule and is kept current
on vaccinations, negative coggins, and farrier work.
Eve resides with or family in
Florida and Michigan (summers only), but also lived with us at
our ranch in Montana, too. She's a very healthy
sound mare with heart and style.
We look forward to the opportunity to get to know more about
you and to help you learn as much as we can about Eve...
Thank you for your
interest,
Debbie Selhost
