Mediodia (or Medio Dia) was sired by Guamani out of his full sister, La Doctora; Mediodia and La Doctora were both by Dulce Sueńo and Cordoncillo Alazana. Mediodia was a full brother to the mare, Maravilla (or Maravilla LaCe); she was the dam of Bizcocho. Mediodia was also the sire of the old Tońa la Negra (dam of Tońita and grandam of Tońa la Negra by Alicante). Although it appears on some papers, Mediodia was not the sire of Dilema. Mediodia was owned by Judge Carlos Davila; he also owned Dilema, Alicante, and Tońa la Negra's sire. It has not yet been verified, but we believe Pisaflores was sired by Dos de Mayo out of Dama or La Copita. Pisaflores was owned by Judge Carlos Davila; he also owned Mediodia, Dilema, Alicante, and Tońa la Negra's sire. His son, Carlos Davila, Jr., has recently been contacted to help verify the sire and dam of Pisaflores. (We will post back with any updates...) Although Pisaflores had a big white spot on his belly, he was not registered as a pinto. There were quite a few horses from his era that had sabino markings, but only tobianos were registered as pintos. Pisaflores sired many registered offspring including the stallion, “Gypsy”, out of La Doctora. “Pisaflores” means “stepping on flowers”.
